Location: Rustenburg, South Africa

This facility is intended to cater for general and specialized maternity and obstetric services for the larger Rustenburg region from the JST Hospital (which is a tertiary level hospital). The facility is to provide the following; antenatal clinic, antenatal in patient ward, delivery suites, dedicated maternal theatres, postnatal wards, Neo natal ICU, baby Nursery, High care ward, kangaroo unit and all related support facilities.

The building is to be linked to the other exiting facilities of the Hospital via a Bridge, which forms part of our design brief. As per the gazetted IUSS standards, a mother Lodger unit is also catered for providing lodging to up to 20 mothers who would be tending to children admitted at the facility. The facility has a total bed capacity of 160 making it one of the largest maternity and obstetrics units in the region.
